Muttnik Policies
Scheduling & walk times:
Scheduling is booked at our initial client meeting. A time slot is determined by availability and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Your Muttnik walker will visit at the requested times as closely as possible. We do reserve the right to leave a 1-2 hour window between the scheduled services in case of unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you if we will be later than 2 hours. Our services are scheduled from 9:00AM to 4:00PM daily. We do not walk on weekends or late evenings. We are closed on stat holidsys.
Services:
Muttnik staff will enter your home in a caring and responsible manner. Staff will remove their footwear in all seasons and endeavor to clean your dog as best as they can. In cases where the animal is very dirty, a predetermined safe room will be used to contain the animal.
Cancellation Policy:
Muttnik offers two grace cancellations at no charge. After these two free cancellations are used, you will be charged for your service at the full rate. Muttnik requires 48 hours notice for cancellation.
Cancellation for pet sitting overnight in less than 48 hours will result in a $50 cancellation fee.
Key Policy:
Muttnik requires that we have two keys to your home for regular dog walking clients. Your dog walker will retain one key and an additional key will be locked at the main office in case of emergencies.
In situations for in-home pet sitting, Muttnik must have a key to your home before you leave. Muttnik will not accept keys left under the mat or hidden as it is a security risk to your home and the pet sitter. Muttnik will not lock your keys in the house after the last visit, in case you can not make it home to your pet. We can arrange to return the key to you or keep a key for future pet sitting.
Changes to Locks, Alarm Codes:
Please notify Muttnik immediately if you have changed your locks or alarm codes. Muttnik is not responsible for tripping an alarm if the code has been changed without notification.
Emergency Contacts:
Muttnik requires you to supply us with all necessary contact information before you leave your animal in our care. This includes information for your vet as well as family members or friends. We will collect this information in our initial meeting.
Holiday Visits:
Muttnik is closed on all statutory holidays including Christmas, and New Years. For pet sitting during the holidays please book 4-6 months in advance at a minimum.
Dog Behavior:
Muttnik does not take care of any aggressive animals. We also do not take any animals that have not been altered on off leash walks. If we find that your dog is aggressive or does not listen while off leash, we will notify you and make alternate service arrangements.
Vaccination Policies:
All Muttnik dogs must have their current vaccinations up to date. Muttnik will not take any dog that has not been vaccinated. Our policy is in effect for the health, safety and well being of your dog as well as all of our clients.
Dog uniforms:
Muttnik pack members wear a bright orange safety scarf around their necks while on off leash excursions. These scarfs serve a dual purpose: to easily identify our pack members while in a park with other dogs and if your dog were to get lost or run away, the Muttnik scarf has all of our contact information on it for identification and prompt return to the pack.
Illness:
If a client’s dog becomes ill while in our care and we can not reach you, we will contact your preferred veterinarian for treatment. While in Muttniks care, we have the authority to act in your dog’s best interest – this may mean seeking medical attention before receiving your approval to do so. The client agrees to reimburse Muttnik for any fees and expenses incurred while tending to emergency or veterinary care.
Weather Policy:
Muttnik will walk your companion rain or shine, snow or slush – only hitch is that we will not take your dog out when the winter weather goes below -18 degree’s or above +30 in the summer. At the heart of Muttnik is a genuine concern for the well-being and safety of your dog. We can offer ‘Bio’ breaks (bathroom breaks) instead during inclement weather for a reduced fee. Let us know your preference on the cold cold days of winter and the sweltering days of summer.
Pricing:
Our prices are subject to change. We will endeavor to notify you of any price changes in advance. Muttnik is considering a minimal gasoline fee to be added to the total invoice due to increased gasoline prices. This will be upon the discretion of Muttnik management. Please note that GST is not included in the service pricing but will be added to the invoice.
Payment:
Muttnik accepts credit card and cheque only. We invoice on the 15th and 30/31st of each month. We require PROMPT payment upon receipt of the invoice. A late charge of 10% of the total invoice will be charged if payment is not received within 10 days of receipt of invoice.
*NSF charges of $20 apply for any returned checks.
Liability:
Muttnik Inc., its employees, and/or contractors, agrees to provide our services in a professional and caring manner. The client will sign a waiver in the initial meeting before Muttnik Inc. services begin. The client agrees to notify Muttnik Inc. of any concerns related to our care within 24hrs of the dog returning home.
